We are currently looking for a Field Technician to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario, on a full-time basis.

  • Duration: 2 years
  • Salary : between $22 and $30 depending on work experience
  • Hours : 40 hours per week
  • Overtime : starts after 44 hours per week
  • Vacation : 3 weeks

Your Contribution
  • Perform field inspection during placement of soils and aggregate such as concrete and water supply systems
  • Inspect, survey, test and measure quality of materials, products, and installations according to specifications and blueprints
  • Survey using devices such as Total stations - Lica manual TS11, Robotic TS16 or Trimble TS robotic S7
  • Monitor geotechnical instrumentation
  • Determine the height and level of groundwater using SPZ device
  • Receive and record all field samples for testing
  • Report any unusual displacement
  • Prepare daily test summary reports for engineering projects
  • Review, develop and properly reference construction drawings
  • Communicate results effectively with onsite personnel and Englobe supervisor
  • Review materials and equipment conditions
  • Ensure safety protocols are met at all times

Your Profile
  • At least 7 to 12 months of previous relevant experience in a similar position for major infrastructure projects
  • Civil Engineering Technician diploma or degree of at least 1-2 years
  • Good knowledge of construction materials and concrete in particular
  • Good knowledge of water systems, railways, roads and highways is preferable
  • Ability to operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Geographic Information System, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project/Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Analytical skills
  • Working at Heights certificate
  • Ability to speak English
  • Ability to work overtime, early mornings, evenings, night shifts and weekends (usual shifts are 8:30am to 5pm or 3:30pm to midnight)
  • Ability to work in noisy environments, handle heavy loads, work under tight deadlines, stand for extended periods
  • Valid "G" driver's license and access to a vehicle
