Assumption Life is looking for a qualified individual as an Investment Accounting Technician in the Finance department. This person will be responsible for the accounting of the Company's investments and segregated funds. In essence, this involves entering data from the various investment related transactions into the CAMRA systems, updating the market values of the funds from the various investment managers and preparing certain supporting documents for the financial and regulatory statements/reports related to the investments. While respecting the various deadlines, it is important that the data be entered accurately and precisely as this data serves as the basis for corporate investment decisions within the limits of the Company's investment policy and matching needs.
- Maintain the accounting, on a daily basis, of the Company's investments via the CAMRA system;
- Compile and submit financial information required for the preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports and investment reports;
- Prepare and analyze year-end financial records related to investments.
College or university degree in an administrative sector or related field;
In-depth knowledge of how the CAMRA system works;
Good knowledge of the functionality and specifics related to the various types of investments (redemptions, dividends, interest, etc.) in order to properly account for/classify them;
Strong attention to detail in order to classify investments in the right categories to ensure accuracy for other stakeholders to properly use this data;
Strong sense of accountability and time planning (organization) to ensure tasks are completed on time;
Good knowledge of Epicor, Crystal and Excel in order to adequately extract the required data for work and presentation purposes;
Basic knowledge of financial statement preparation (CLHIA and pension funds formats).
