We are growing in British Columbia and are currently looking for an experienced Senior Automation Specialist to advise and support our clients. This role will be responsible for consulting with clients, advising on tool selection and automation processes, creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test automation frameworks, tests, and reporting. If you love to engage with customers to understand their needs, and to design tailored automation frameworks, then this role is for you!

Responsibilities
  • Review client automation tools and automation approaches, discover client needs and requirements, and deliver tool and process recommendations and plans
  • Design, implement, and optimize test automation frameworks from scratch
  • Design, implement, execute automation scripts
  • Produce documentation to support testing activities
  • Conduct testing to align with client test methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, BDD, etc)
  • Use defect tracking and test case management systems to document test cases, record defects, and record test case execution results
  • Work/communicate directly with clients and discuss prioritizing of testing activities
  • Extract testing requirements from functional and business requirements
  • Write test plans and test cases
  • Create test status reports
  • Provide mentorship and training for less-experienced automation resources
Qualifications
  • Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst

  • 5+ years working as an Automation Specialist

  • Experience with desktop automation is an asset

  • Experience with open-source and commercial automation tools (Selenium, Ranorex, TestComplete, QTP/UFT, Tosca, etc)

  • Ability to work in multiple programming languages

  • Experience in API test automation (SoapUI, Postman, etc)

  • Experience working in a client-facing, consultative capacity

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose practical solutions to complex problems

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience having tested complex IT solutions

  • Flexibility, self-motivation and the ability to give and receive feedback at all levels

  • Adaptable and willing to work through challenges with a positive attitude

  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships in a team-oriented environment
