Salary range: $92,682.858 to $109,038.659 annually
For the 2021-22 Academic Year, based on public health guidelines, NSCC plans to return to more in-person learning, supports and services. You may be required to work on campus, remotely or a combination of both as the Academic Year begins and progresses. This will be clarified further upon hire.
The Manager of Employee Health & Wellbeing provides College-wide leadership for programs and services in the areas of employee mental health and wellness. You will foster and develop best practices and understanding informed by emerging trends to develop advances in wellness, and employee mental health services, resources and supports. As a member of the OD Leadership Team you will work closely with colleagues to monitor, evaluate, and provide recommendations on employee health, wellness and mental health programs and services at NSCC.
The Manager, Employee Health & Wellbeing plays a key role with NSCC's Mental Wellness Steering Committee, working in partnership with Student Affairs to provide leadership, coordination and administration for the ongoing implementation and monitoring of the College's Comprehensive Mental Wellness Strategy. You will work closely with Student Affairs and stakeholders across the College and in the Community to advance the strategy and foster an NSCC culture that prioritizes the mental wellness of employees and students, allowing us all to learn, grow, contribute, and thrive. You will be responsible for effectively managing policies, processes, and relationships with 3rd party providers involved in the provision of some employee health and wellness programs and services.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a master's degree in a related discipline including: counseling, education, social sciences, health promotion, social work, etc. Specialized training and/or certifications in areas related to health promotion, mental health and wellness, disability management and evaluation would be considered an asset.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of recent and related occupational experience as a subject matter expert and/or program manager in the area of workplace health promotion and mental wellness.
- You are culturally competent and demonstrate a commitment to principles of equity. Knowledge and lived experience in this important work as well as previous experience working with African Nova Scotian communities, Indigenous communities and other equity seeking communities would be considered a strong asset.
- You have experience working in a unionized environment.
- You are proficient with technology, including databases, business intelligence, and the full suite of MS Office products.
- You have experience working with adults in areas of mental health and wellness highlighted by workplace wellness.
- You have demonstrated experience developing and implementing programming and services in areas of mental wellness including experience and/or training in process, developmental and outcome-based evaluation.
- Knowledge and experience with employee and family assistance programs, supportive return to work programs and other supports for employees would be considered an asset.
- Occupational experience in a leadership role would be considered an asset.
