Imperial Manufacturing Group is looking for self-motivated Shippers to join our team working the weekend graveyard shift. Our ideal candidates understand the importance of safety, attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Building orders and truckloads, with the help of lift-truck (stand-up and sit-down models), by picking products from the warehouse according to orders released by Lead-Hand trough Oracle that comes on hand held scanner; always double-checking the physical inventory of the load contains the products that the order require
- Building pallets ready for truck by packing products and shrink wrapping them appropriately with shrink wrap machine, or on occasion by-hand when required
- Scanning all products when taking them from warehouse to move them to docking area
- Hand-bombing some pallets as required to build pallet to be shipped if it doesn't call for a full pallet
- Achieving pre-set production standards (Number of lines)
- Being always ready to go help out with other distribution jobs as required and occasionally going to work in production
- Reporting to lead hand or Distribution manager any problems or discrepancies regarding material quality, any problems with Oracle, scanners, availability of product, discrepancies regarding physical and electronic inventory etc.
- Following all rules, policies and procedures while operating lift truck to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others around you; completing start-of-shift lift truck safety inspection checklist
- Following all safety rules/practices and policies pertaining to safety, including, but not limited to, wearing all required PPE and doing exercises and stretches at assigned times; reporting all accidents, near misses, potential hazards or problems to lead-hand
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area and contributing to overall plant safety and cleanliness
- Performing all other duties assigned by lead hand or Distribution manager
Qualifications
- Having a High School Diploma would an asset
- Having experience with Lift Truck (stand up and sit down models), operations and/or having Lift Truck training would be an asset
- Having ability to follow oral and written directions
- Having ability to lift loads of up-to 80lbs
- Having demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices
- Being able to function well in a team environment and having good oral and written communication skills
- Having ability to prioritize and organize work
- Being punctual and reliable
