The Emera Internal Audit team is seeking an Auditor. This is an early-career opportunity to gain broad exposure to Emera's businesses and learn how a large, complex organization operates.

You will work with the enterprise Internal Audit team on business process assurance and advisory engagements across Emera's affiliates in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. Internal Audit helps Emera manage risk, strengthen controls, improve processes and achieve its objectives.

As an Auditor you will:

  • Assist with assurance and advisory engagements, including risk assessments and audit testing
  • Assess processes and controls that support business operations
  • Prepare clear, accurate documentation that supports the work performed and conclusions reached
  • Build positive working relationships and discuss audit observations with management
  • Track previous audit issues and support follow-up work to assess remediation progress
  • Complete assigned work within established budgets and timelines
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes

What will make you successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce, business, technology or related discipline
  • Exposure to audit, risk management, governance or internal controls through education, internships or work experience is an asset
  • Interest in pursuing a relevant professional designation, such as CPA or CIA
  • Strong analytical, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Curious, collaborative and comfortable working in a changing environment
