Introhive is seeking an ambitious, well-rounded Data Scientist to join our growing team in Fredericton or Saint John, NB. Introhive offers a unique opportunity to work on very large data sets and solve challenging business problems using ML, Deep Learning and NLP. If this sounds intriguing, then we would like to talk to you about this key role in the technical leadership team.
As the ideal candidate, you will have a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computational Science and a history of solving difficult problems using a scientific approach. You are able to work collaboratively with the Product team and other stakeholders. You possess strong communication and leadership skills and can clearly communicate a vision, mentor team members and drive innovation. You will have a demonstrated history of implementing ML solutions into a production environment. In addition, you will possess exceptional knowledge of Python or R (using libraries and writing custom code), Artificial Intelligence and more specifically Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Experience building large-scale NLP systems from prototyping to production.
- Understanding of NLP techniques for text representation, semantic extraction techniques, data structures and modeling.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases and at least one scripting language (R, Python, etc.)
- Ability to write robust and testable code.
- Comfortable working in AWS and Azure environments.
- Experience using Scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience with NLP libraries NLTK, spaCy, etc. would be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with transfer learning in language models and fine tuning pre-trained models for specific use cases would be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability and desire to mentor junior Scientists.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or similar field.
