Overview:
The Systems Administrator will help support the Information Technology Department and will report to the Director of IT. This full-time position will be located at corporate office in Truro, NS.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Understanding of networking protocols;
- Evaluating new hardware and software;
- Repairing, maintaining, updating and configuring PC, server and network systems, routers and switches;
- Microsoft Active Directory Network architecture, including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, LDAP, WSUS, firewall configuration, etc.);
- Windows System Administration;
- WAN/LAN routing and configuration;
- System monitoring;
- Group Policy;
- Windows 7 & 10, Windows Server 2003/2008 R2/2012 R2;
- Windows Terminal Services;
- MS Office Suites;
- Exchange 365;
- End user software/hardware support in a LAN/WAN environment;
- Workstation/server hardware configuration;
- Disaster Recovery;
- Cisco firewall/router experience considered an asset;
- Must be available for travel as needed (travel to stations to set up their IT infrastructure and provide support).
As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in the Information Technology field;
- Minimum five years' experience as a Systems Administrator or related field;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong customer service;
- Ability to work independently;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Strong problem solving skills;
- Must have the ability to lift 50+ pounds.
