Overview:

The Systems Administrator will help support the Information Technology Department and will report to the Director of IT. This full-time position will be located at corporate office in Truro, NS.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Understanding of networking protocols;
• Evaluating new hardware and software;
• Repairing, maintaining, updating and configuring PC, server and network systems, routers and switches;
• Microsoft Active Directory Network architecture, including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, LDAP, WSUS, firewall configuration, etc.);
• Windows System Administration;
• WAN/LAN routing and configuration;
• System monitoring;
• Group Policy;
• Windows 7 & 10, Windows Server 2003/2008 R2/2012 R2;
• Windows Terminal Services;
• MS Office Suites;
• Exchange 365;
• End user software/hardware support in a LAN/WAN environment;
• Workstation/server hardware configuration;
• Disaster Recovery;
• Cisco firewall/router experience considered an asset;
• Must be available for travel as needed (travel to stations to set up their IT infrastructure and provide support).

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in the Information Technology field;
• Minimum five years' experience as a Systems Administrator or related field;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Strong customer service;
• Ability to work independently;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Strong problem solving skills;
• Must have the ability to lift 50+ pounds.
