Diesel Truck Mechanic

The Diesel Truck Mechanic will service delivery trucks in a shop-based environment, reporting to the Operations Manager. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles while documenting work through paper-based work orders and service records.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting on delivery trucks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine vehicle inspections.
• Repair and service braking, transmission, hydraulic, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Perform emissions testing and address related maintenance needs.
• Complete paper-based work orders and maintain accurate service records.
• Follow established safety procedures and ensure safety compliance.
• Provide shop-based maintenance and repair support without road-service assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in diesel truck maintenance and repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software.
• Understanding of safety procedures.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
