Jumbo Operators

Thyssen Mining is seeking experienced Jumbo Operators to join our underground mining operations across Canada. We are seeking experienced Underground Jumbo Operators to safely operate jumbo drills in support of underground mine development. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong drilling skills, safety awareness, equipment knowledge, and the ability to work effectively as part of an underground mining crew.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate underground jumbo drill equipment.
• Drill development rounds according to approved drill patterns and specifications.
• Complete pre-operational inspections and report equipment defects or mechanical concerns.
• Monitor drilling conditions and equipment performance during operation.
• Follow ground-control, workplace and site-specific safety requirements.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other underground crews.
• Complete required equipment and production records.
• Assist with general underground mining duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Previous underground mining experience.
• Proven experience operating underground jumbo drills.
• Knowledge of underground drilling practices and safe equipment operation.
• Valid underground mining certifications/modules applicable to the work location.
• Strong safety awareness, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in physically demanding underground conditions.

Work Conditions:

• Underground mining environment.
• Exposure to dust, noise, water and varying ground conditions.
• Shift work and remote/camp rotations may apply depending on the project.
• Required PPE must be worn at all times.
