Category Manager

Elevate Service Group

Full-time

On-site | Bolton, ON, Canada

About us

Elevate Service Group is building Canada's leading integrated facilities management and essential commercial services platform. Through six operating companies — Infinity Group Construction, First Choice Maintenance, Charged Electric Services, Think Green Solutions, JJ&A Mechanical, and TFI Food Equipment Solutions — Elevate delivers electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC, lighting and energy solutions, grease trap and drain care, general repair and maintenance, renovations and build-outs, preventive maintenance, capital asset management, and foodservice equipment service to multi-location customers across the country.

The platform has scaled to approximately $90 million in pro forma annualized revenue with an in-house technician base of 130-plus and continues to add capability through disciplined acquisition.

The commercial thesis is straightforward. Most facility owners and operators manage dozens of vendors across trades, banners and regions — with inconsistent service, no portfolio-level visibility, and administrative cost buried in every invoice. Elevate consolidates that spend under one accountable provider, one point of contact, and one technology, analytics and dispatch platform.

That thesis only becomes revenue if someone sells it. That is this role.

About the role

The Category Manager (supply chain), is responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational execution of the supply plan including aspects of vendor relationships and supply sourcing. This role requires leadership in optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring that business objectives are met in alignment with company goals. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical expertise, and hands-on execution to support our business objectives and enhance operational performance.

This position acts as a critical link between field service operations, equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and parts distributors. The core objective is to maximize "First-Time Fix" rates by ensuring excellent inventory availability while optimizing total cost of ownership, freight expense, and inventory carrying costs.

Requirements

· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

· Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.

· Problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

· Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in technical operations.

Responsibilities

Parts Replenishment & Daily Supply Execution

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage stocking location parts profiles to ensure support, alignment and achievement of company first time fix targets

  • Automated Replenishment: Utilize the FSM (Field Service Management) system to track real-time parts usage, triggering automated fulfillment to ensure trucks & stocking locations remain fully stocked with required parts.

  • Daily Order Fulfillment: Oversee the execution of daily parts replenishment queues and emergency field orders, utilizing expedited procurement paths for critical "Equipment Down" situations.

Logistics Oversight

  • Develop and manage logistics strategies to improve and optimize transportation costs and delivery times.

  • Leverage data analytics to improve transportation efficiency, reduce lead times and improve customer satisfaction.

  • Oversee compliance with customs regulations, import/export documentation, and any relevant legal requirements.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Manage and mentor your team by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

  • Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork among all associates.

  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure alignment and resolve any supply related issues.

Master Data Records Management

  • Data Integrity & Governance: Own the accuracy and health of parts inventory data within applicable systems, ensuring correct SKU configurations, pricing tiers, and vendor information.

Performance Metric Design

Establish and continually track critical supply chain and departmental metrics. Eg:

  • First-Time Fix (FTF) Rate driven by parts availability.

  • Supplier OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) percentage.

  • Purchase Order (PO) cycle times and emergency freight spend variances

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline. Professional designations (e.g., PMP, CSCP, SCMP, or CPIM) are considered a strong asset.

  • Experience: 3 to 5+ years of category management, inventory planning, or procurement experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in industrial distribution, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), or commercial foodservice equipment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data modeling).

  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical capabilities and the capacity to make rapid, data-backed decisions under the pressure of tight daily service windows.

Compensation and what we offer

  • Competitive salary.

  • Standard Elevate benefits package (health, dental, vision).

  • Paid vacation.

  • Career growth and leadership development opportunities.

  • Opportunity to be part of a high-growth national initiative from the ground floor.
