Safety / Environment

• Ensure safe work systems/procedures are always practiced and adhered to ensure duties are performed in a manner that minimizes risk to employees and contractors
• Always maintain exemplary standard of housekeeping, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
• Understand and familiarize oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures
• Abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems, as well as all relevant legislation
• Strive to instill a safety culture in the Geology department and with other mine site personnel

• Provide mentoring, guidance and leadership to Geologists and Field staff within the team
• Coach, mentor, assess and monitor the work performance of Geology personnel within the team
• Act as the Chief Mine Geologist in their absence by directing and providing leadership to the Geology team

Knowledge / Skills

• Plan, design and monitor grade control drilling programs to accurately delineate the orebody ahead of mining
• Provide and validate sectional interpretation of grade control data and produce validated polygon and wireframe models
• Regularly update the grade control block model
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on grade control drilling, ore reconciliation, mine geology and grade drivers
• Communicate geological, geotechnical and grade information to site technical, management and contractor personnel to assist with mine planning and achieving production targets
• Ensure ore is extracted to maximize recovery and minimize ore loss and dilution
