Technical Customer Support / Vendor Coordinator - Construction Materials

DBNC is looking for a sharp communicator who can get on the phone with vendors, learn fast, ask smart questions, and move construction purchasing forward.

This is not a call centre role, and it is not a senior supply-chain role. It is a hands-on coordination role for someone who can speak clearly, build rapport, pick up technical language quickly, and turn messy material requests into quotes, decisions, orders, and follow-through.

Why This Role Matters

A lot of purchasing problems get solved by the person who is willing to call the right vendor, ask the right questions, learn the product language, and keep the request moving. You might start a call knowing very little about a generator, control, fridge, fitting, or specialty material. By the second call, you should be able to use what you learned, sound credible, and get better answers.

You will help DBNC build stronger vendor relationships, get better pricing and timelines, and make sure construction-related requests do not stall because information is unclear or nobody owned the follow-up.

What You Will Own
  • Call vendors to gather information, build relationships, request quotes, clarify specs, and push timelines forward.
  • Learn technical product details quickly through phone calls, research, vendor conversations, and internal questions.
  • Turn material requests into clear vendor requirements, quote comparisons, delivery plans, and next steps.
  • Compare price, quality, timeline, availability, and vendor reliability before recommending a path forward.
  • Coordinate requester review and material verification before orders are finalized.
  • Track quotes, orders, backorders, delivery or pickup details, and follow-up items through completion.
  • Coordinate with internal and external contacts, including support for China-based procurement when needed.
  • Complete or organize final paperwork and handoff details for accounting.
  • Help shape better internal tools and workflows as DBNC builds software to remove repetitive admin work from the role.
What Makes You a Fit
  • You are confident on the phone, communicate clearly in English, and can build rapport with vendors who may not know us yet.
  • You learn technical information quickly, ask good questions, and can break unfamiliar products or specs into practical next steps.
  • You take ownership of follow-through, stay organized enough to keep requests moving, and can handle ambiguity without getting overwhelmed.
Helpful Backgrounds

You do not need deep procurement experience. We are open to people from technical customer support, inside sales, project coordination, estimating, construction admin, engineering, architecture, materials, technical products, or other roles where you had to learn detailed information and explain it clearly.

Construction or materials knowledge is a plus, but it is not the main requirement. The main requirement is that you can think critically, learn fast, communicate well, and keep ownership until the request is finished.

Why Join DBNC

You will work directly with a hands-on team where your calls, judgment, and follow-through matter. The environment is personal, practical, and less corporate. You will also be involved as a subject-matter user while DBNC builds internal technology around this role, with the goal of removing boring paperwork and keeping the work focused on communication, problem-solving, and vendor relationships.

DBNC also holds company parties twice per year and values people who want to grow with the team, improve the work, and take real ownership.

Location & Schedule

This is a full-time permanent, in-office role at 3660 Hurontario Street. Standard hours are 9-5, with an earlier start possible if preferred. The role is office-based, with construction activity in the same building when site context or material verification is needed. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
