THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is partnering with an established organization in the Greater Ottawa Area to recruit a Bilingual Repairs & Maintenance Coordinator to support its newly established Repairs & Maintenance Department.

This position will play an important role in coordinating maintenance requests across a network of 124 retail locations, ensuring repairs are addressed efficiently and service providers are dispatched as needed.

Working closely with the department manager, the successful candidate will help establish administrative processes, streamline maintenance coordination, and act as a key point of contact for store personnel, vendors, and internal teams.

This opportunity is ideal for a highly organized, resourceful, and customer-focused professional with a background in administration, dispatch, or office coordination who enjoys problem-solving and managing multiple priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, assess, and coordinate repair and maintenance requests from store locations.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance concerns over the phone to determine appropriate next steps and potential solutions.
  • Coordinate and dispatch external technicians, contractors, and service providers to address maintenance issues.
  • Monitor outstanding service requests, follow up with vendors, and ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate repairs involving interior and exterior lighting, sidewalks, general building maintenance, and property upkeep.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, service activities, and follow-up communications.
  • Communicate regularly with store employees, vendors, management, and internal stakeholders in both English and French.
  • Support the department manager in developing and improving administrative procedures and maintenance coordination processes.
  • Prioritize urgent maintenance requests while effectively managing day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Occasionally visit store locations throughout the Greater Ottawa Area to assess maintenance concerns that cannot be resolved remotely.
  • Provide limited after-hours support when urgent maintenance issues require coordination or vendor dispatch.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluency in both English and French is required, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in administration, reception, dispatch, office coordination, or a similar role.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance requests, service technicians, or external vendors is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the confidence to troubleshoot issues and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow through on outstanding requests.
  • Comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Proficient with computers and general office administration systems.
  • Dependable, resourceful, and comfortable communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Able to commute to the office five days per week and travel locally when required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Annual Salary: $60,000–$70,000, depending on experience.
  • Permanent, full-time opportunity with an established organization.
  • Monday–Friday schedule during regular business hours.
  • Company-provided cellphone.
  • Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel.
  • Time off in lieu for additional hours worked.
  • Opportunity to help develop and shape a newly established department.
  • Collaborative working environment with direct access to departmental leadership.

WORK SCHEDULE & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a fully office-based position in the Greater Ottawa Area, with occasional local travel to store locations during regular business hours.

Some evening or weekend availability may be required to coordinate urgent maintenance issues. After-hours requests are expected to be infrequent, with significant issues escalated to management.
