Experienced Excavator Operator - Finish Grading & Cut/Fill

We have incoming cut-and-fill and site-grading work and are looking for an experienced excavator operator who can independently complete projects from grading plans and established benchmarks.This position requires proven excavator grading experience. You must be able to establish, achieve, and check grades without ongoing direction from another operator.
The work:

• Complete cut-and-fill operations, site grading, slope shaping, and final trimming.
• Read grading drawings, spot elevations, grade stakes, and slope requirements.
• Set up and use a laser level and grade rod to establish and verify elevations.
• Plan excavation sequence, machine positioning, stockpiles, and material movement.
• Coordinate with truck drivers, labourers, and site supervision.
• Recognize unsuitable ground, utility conflicts, and discrepancies between drawings and site conditions, and communicate them before proceeding.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine machine care.

Required experience:

• Demonstrated experience finish grading with an excavator, including completing work to specified elevations and tolerances.
• Experience independently completing site preparation, lot grading, building pads, or similar earthworks.
• Ability to work accurately around existing structures, services, and completed work.
• Safe, productive operating habits and dependable attendance.
