A family in Oakville is seeking a reliable, experienced, and engaging babysitter to provide occasional backup care for their 2-year-old daughter. The family is looking for someone who can provide a safe, nurturing, and screen-free environment while keeping their daughter entertained and engaged in age-appropriate activity, while the parents work from home.

• Schedule: As needed during the work week
  • Monday–Friday, typically between 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Approximately 3–8 hours per visit
  • 1–4 times per month
  • Occasional evening care may be needed, typically 4:00 PM–9:00 PM
  • The family can typically provide 24+ hours' advance notice, with a few days' notice when possible
• Start date: ASAP
  • Upcoming dates: Monday, October 19th & Tuesday October 20th
  • Hours: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM both days
• End date: Ongoing, long-term
• Rate: $22 to $25 per hour, based on experience
• 1 Child: 2 year old, girl
• Location: Oakville, near Dundas Street, Postmaster Drive, Third Line, and Oakville Hospital

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and engaging care in a safe environment.
• Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities, games, and interactive play.
• Maintain a screen-free environment throughout care.
• Supervise meals and snacks as needed, encouraging independence.
• Follow the family's routines, instructions, and allergy precautions.
• Communicate with family during the times of care, as needed

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Minimum 2 years of paid childcare experience with toddlers.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to pass a background and social media check.
• Minimum 2 professional references from paid childcare experience.
• Flexibility to provide occasional backup care with 24+ hours' advance notice.

CompensationThis position pays $22-$25 CAD per hour, based on experience. The family is looking for an Occasional Backup Babysitter, as needed, approximately 1–4 times per month, typically for 3–8 hours per visit, with occasional evening care. This is an ongoing, long-term opportunity.
