High Tech Genesis - 15 Jobs
Ottawa, ON
Job Details:
At High Tech Genesis, we build software that clients in telecom, cloud, networks, and high-tech product teams actually ship. As a Full Stack Developer you will own features end-to-end—UI, APIs, data, and delivery—so our customers can launch faster and with fewer defects. You will work on real products, not throwaway prototypes, and your code will sit in production for users who depend on it.
Performance Objectives- Ship complete, production-ready features (frontend + backend + data) that meet agreed acceptance criteria within each sprint.
- Design and implement APIs, data models, and integrations that support client product roadmaps without creating hidden technical debt.
- Raise quality by writing automated tests, participating in reviews, and driving down escaped defects on the features you own.
- Partner with architects, QA, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements, surface risks early, and keep delivery on schedule.
- Improve performance, security, and operability of the stack you touch; resolve production issues when they arise.
- Use modern engineering practices and AI-enabled tools to increase throughput without sacrificing maintainability.
You will report to a Project Lead or Engineering Manager and work in small, senior-heavy delivery teams (developers, testers, architects) on client engagements. Typical stack and tools include Git, Jira, CI, cloud or on-prem environments, and languages/frameworks aligned to the engagement (Java/J2EE, JavaScript, C++, APIs, databases). Work is project-based across High Tech Genesis' Ottawa-rooted services practice; you must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Essential Qualifications- Proven track record delivering full-stack features in production (not tutorials): frontend, backend services, and data.
- Hands-on strength in at least one modern web/backend stack used in enterprise or product engineering (e.g., Java/J2EE or Node plus a current UI framework) and relational or document databases.
- Comfortable with the full SDLC: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Strong debugging, code-review, and communication skills; able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Git and ticket-driven work (e.g., Jira); ability to manage multiple priorities on client timelines.
- Variety of high-tech domains—telecom, cloud, networks, embedded-adjacent products—not a single internal app forever.
- Senior peers who care about craft; you push boundaries with current tools, including AI-assisted development where it helps.
- Design-services culture: you see work go live for clients who lead in their markets.
- Inclusive team; accessible hiring process; Equal Opportunity Employer.
