Fleet & Equipment Mechanic - Landscaping & Snow Removal

Willand Grounds Maintenance is an established year-round commercial landscape maintenance and snow removal company. We are looking to hire an experienced mechanic to join our team. Our fully equipped mechanic shop supports operations with maintenance, services and repairs of the fleet. We're looking for someone who can diagnose problems, work independently and in a team environment, and keep our trucks, equipment and tools reliable throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair pickup and medium sized trucks, trailers, loaders, tractors, landscaping equipment, snowplows, salters, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and small engines.
• Welding and fabrications.
• Tire rotations and oil changes.
• Parts pickup and deliver equipment to jobsites.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintain professional, positive and supportive communications with staff and suppliers.
• Maintain a safe and organised workplace.
• Service snowplows, salters, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and small engines.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and seasonal equipment preparation.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns in the shop and at job sites.
• Maintain service records and coordinate parts orders.
• Prioritize repairs to keep equipment ready during busy landscaping and snow operations.
• Assisting in additional related or supportive tasks to operations.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Minimum education of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Automotive, truck or heavy equipment technician certification (310S) is an asset.
• Having a landscaping maintenance and/or snow removal background is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with electronic diagnostic software and equipment is an asset.
• Strong aptitude in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge, experience and capability of maintaining and operating commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, plows, salters, diesel engines, small engines, and hydraulics, etc.
• Ability to lift + 60lbs and full dexterity required for performing duties.
• Valid G driver's license and ability to travel to shop in Thornhill.
• Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently and team environment.
• Available for flexible schedule to support winter snow removal 24/7 operations.
