Job Details:
We're hiring a reliable employee to take responsibility for an assigned snow and ice service route from November 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
Pay for daily availability
A large part of the monthly pay is for keeping yourself available every day throughout the winter. You must be reachable and available for dispatch from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., including weekends and holidays, unless time off is approved or legal leave and rest requirements apply.
Actual work hours depend on conditions and dispatches. There may be days with no work and other days with a full route to complete. You can use time between assignments for personal activities, provided you remain reachable and can meet the agreed dispatch response time. Other work must not interfere with this availability.
Inclusive monthly pay
Our standard route target is $6,000 per month before GST. At that route value, total gross pay including vacation and applicable holiday pay is:

The 40% minimum continues in a month with no events when you remain assigned and meet the availability requirement. Actual route revenue and response times are confirmed before you accept. The percentage is one gross pay package before employee deductions, including ordinary wages, vacation pay and applicable general holiday, holiday hours and overtime pay wherever lawful. Payroll itemizes these components within the total. Any amount needed to meet legal minimums is paid additionally.
What you will do
• Clear assigned walkways, sidewalks, entrances and other areas listed in the route instructions.
• Apply ice melt and traction material, and submit service completion photos.
• Return to correct your own missed, incomplete or incorrect work when directed.
• Fill fuel, collect materials and complete reasonable small job-related errands.
A service event is each separate dispatch for snow removal, ice control or other route-related work. Corrective callbacks do not add an event, but callback and errand time still counts as working time. Snow equipment and materials are supplied; vehicle arrangements are confirmed before hiring.
Who we are looking for
Someone dependable who responds promptly, works well independently, pays attention to detail and can safely handle physical outdoor work in winter conditions. A valid driver's licence is required for any assigned driving duties.
