This position involves loading construction materials and fixtures onto trucks or cube vans, assisting with deliveries, unloading materials at customer locations, and helping with general clean-up at the end of the day. Candidates should be prepared for physical work, early starts, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load trucks and cube vans with construction materials and fixtures according to the delivery schedule.
- Ride along with the delivery driver to customer locations and job sites.
- Safely unload building materials and fixtures at each customer location.
- Assist with moving and carrying materials as required.
- Help with general clean-up and organization of the lumber yard at the end of the day.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and team members.
- Perform other general labour and material-handling duties as assigned.
- CSA-approved steel-toe boots.
- Hard hat.
- Safety vest.
- Safety glasses.
- Work gloves.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying building materials.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Previous construction, warehouse, delivery, or general labour experience is considered an asset.
- Monday to Friday schedule.
- Shift times to be confirmed.
- Physically demanding work involving regular lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading of building materials.
- Work will take place at customer locations, job sites, and the lumber yard.
- Position requires working outdoors and in varying weather conditions as needed.
- Ongoing employment opportunity with an ASAP start date.
- $16.50/hour + 4% vacation pay.
