HVAC / Refrigeration Technician – Scientific & Laboratory Equipment Location: Greater Toronto Area – Toronto, North York & Scarborough
Compensation: Local 787 Journeyman Rates

The Opportunity We are seeking a licensed HVAC / Refrigeration Technician to join a Scientific Services team supporting customers across Toronto, North York and Scarborough.
You will maintain, troubleshoot and repair specialized refrigeration and scientific equipment, perform on-site calibrations and help customers keep critical equipment operating reliably.
Previous laboratory equipment experience is an asset. This opportunity may also suit a licensed refrigeration technician with strong diagnostic skills and an interest in developing expertise in scientific equipment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair refrigeration and scientific equipment used in healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, research and manufacturing environments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and equipment performance checks.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigeration-related faults and complete appropriate repairs.
  • Perform on-site calibrations for temperature, humidity, CO and speed, as applicable to the equipment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergency repair requests.
  • Prepare repair estimates, recommend corrective actions and order replacement parts as required.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about equipment issues, service recommendations and work completed.
  • Accurately complete service reports, calibration records, maintenance logs and parts documentation.
  • Follow company service standards, work instructions, applicable safety requirements and customer procedures.
  • Work independently at customer sites and collaborate with technicians and internal support teams.
Qualifications
  • Valid HVAC/Refrigeration journeyperson licens- 313a
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and refrigeration troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently, organize service priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Professional communication skills and a strong customer service approach.
  • Dependable, adaptable and committed to safe, quality workmanship.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, procedures and technical skills.
Experience Considered an Asset Hands-on service experience with one or more of the following is required:
  • Ultra-low temperature freezers.
  • Laboratory refrigerators and freezers.
  • Environmental chambers.
  • Incubators.
  • Centrifuges.
  • Freeze dryers.
  • Other scientific or laboratory equipment.
Applicable manufacturer training is also an asset, along with experience performing equipment calibrations. What This Opportunity Offers
