We are seeking a detail-oriented Racker to support our metal finishing and surface treatment operations. The Racker will be responsible for handling, preparing, and positioning complex and close-tolerance parts for anodizing, chromating, passivation, and other finishing processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow precise instructions to ensure high-quality finishing results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rack, hang, and secure a variety of metal parts—including small, delicate, and close-tolerance components—according to process specifications.

  • Follow instructions for precision masking to ensure accurate coating coverage and protection of critical areas.

  • Prepare parts for processes such as hardcoat anodizing, chromic anodizing, chemical conversion coating (including RoHS-compliant coatings), passivation, and manganese phosphate.

  • Inspect parts before racking for cleanliness, defects, or damage, and report issues to the supervisor.

  • Ensure proper spacing, alignment, and electrical contact for parts undergoing anodizing or plating processes.

  • Unrack finished parts safely and inspect for quality and coating consistency.

  • Assist in pre- and post-processing steps such as rinsing, drying, counting, and packaging.

  • Maintain accurate part counts and documentation as required.

  • Follow all safety protocols, including handling chemicals and PPE requirements.

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with production standards.

  • Collaborate with production and technical staff to meet daily output and quality goals.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in metal finishing, anodizing, masking, chemical processing, or a production environment preferred (but not requiredtraining provided).

  • Ability to handle small parts and perform precision work.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Basic math and counting skills.

  • Reliability, consistency, and a strong work ethic.

  • Manual dexterity and steady hand for delicate masking and part handling.

  • Ability to recognize defects and ensure quality standards.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

  • Team-oriented with strong communication abilities.

Work Environment

  • Production setting involving chemicals, tanks, and finishing equipment.
