Sheet Metal TIG Welder / Fitter

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal TIG Welder / Fitter with strong expertise in GTAW (TIG welding) and fitting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background working with sheet metal, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and a strong understanding of welding standards and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on sheet metal components

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols

• Fit and assemble parts according to specifications

• Ensure welds meet required quality and industry standards

• Inspect finished work for accuracy, defects, and compliance

• Prepare materials, clean weld surfaces, and set up equipment

• Maintain welding tools and equipment in good condition

• Follow all safety procedures and shop standards

• Work independently and meet production deadlines

Requirements:

• Minimum 10+ years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience

• Strong sheet metal fitting and fabrication skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Knowledge of welding standards and codes

• High attention to detail and workmanship quality

• Ability to work in an afternoon shift environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with stainless steel and thin gauge materials

• CWB certification (or equivalent) is an asset

• Experience in custom fabrication or production environments
