Additional Compensation: Eligible for profit sharing after the first year Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Qlik Business Analyst / BI Developer to join a growing organization in Mississauga, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BI developer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, working directly with business leaders, and developing analytics solutions that have a measurable impact across an organization. While Qlik experience is important, candidates whose primary development background is in Power BI or Tableau will also be considered provided they have hands-on experience working with Qlik. This position will support Qlik development across affiliated businesses in Canada, the United States, and Mexico and will have the opportunity to expand into other technology initiatives, including AI development, application development, programming, and other IT projects. What You'll Do You will design, develop, deploy, and maintain business intelligence and analytics solutions while partnering with teams across Sales, Finance, Operations, and leadership. Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, visualizations, and analytical applications.
  • Build Qlik solutions from initial data/load scripting through final dashboards and visualizations.
  • Write and maintain Qlik load scripts and develop Set Analysis expressions.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into effective technical and analytical solutions.
  • Work with data from multiple sources, including relational databases, ERP systems, cloud platforms, APIs, and flat files.
  • Develop and maintain data transformations and QVD files.
  • Support data modeling and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Maintain and improve existing BI applications and reporting solutions.
  • Optimize application performance, data refreshes, and overall user experience.
  • Partner directly with Sales, Finance, Operations, and leadership to understand reporting and analytical needs.
  • Explain technical information and data insights to nontechnical users.
  • Provide user support and training to encourage adoption of self-service analytics.
  • Assist with Qlik administration and governance as experience allows.
  • Maintain documentation for applications, data models, scripts, and processes.
  • Participate in additional technology initiatives as the organization continues to grow.
What We're Looking For Required/Primary Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience developing BI applications using Qlik, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
  • Some hands-on Qlik Cloud and/or Qlik Sense Enterprise experience is required.
  • Experience with Qlik Set Analysis and Qlik scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing BI applications and dashboards from initial requirements through final deployment.
  • Experience working with and supporting multiple business functions, such as Sales, Finance, and Operations.
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage priorities and multiple projects.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in Canada.
Five or more years of Qlik experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered based on their overall development skills, Qlik knowledge, and ability to independently develop their technical capabilities. Preferred Qualifications The following experience is beneficial but not required:
  • Qlik Cloud administration, including tenant management, spaces, permissions, reload scheduling, or Section Access.
  • Advanced SQL.
  • Dimensional or star-schema data modeling.
  • QVD architecture and data transformations.
  • Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Azure or other cloud data platforms.
  • ERP data and systems experience.
  • Distribution or manufacturing industry experience.
  • Datacor ERP experience.
  • Qlik NPrinting or Qlik Automate/Application Automation.
  • Power BI and/or Tableau experience in addition to Qlik.
  • HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, or React.
  • Qlik certifications.
Why Consider This Opportunity? This is an opportunity to join an innovative, fast-growing organization where you will have significant visibility and ownership of your work. Rather than being limited to one department or a narrowly defined development function, you will support business intelligence needs across affiliated companies in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. The position also provides an opportunity to broaden your technical experience beyond traditional BI development. As the organization continues to evolve, this individual may become involved with AI development, application development, programming, and other technology projects. Work Environment The position is based in Mississauga, Ontario, with onsite work preferred. Hybrid flexibility may potentially be considered for the right employee after approximately six months of service.
