Management

Canadian Industries Limited (CIL) is seeking a customer-focused Manager, National Accounts Programs to help deliver business priorities across major Canadian retail partners. Reporting to the Senior National Account Manager, RONA, this role will primarily support the RONA business while contributing to projects across other national retail accounts as needed. The successful candidate will manage assigned customer programs, maintain regular contact with retail partners, and bring together Sales, Channel Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain and Customer Service to keep initiatives on track and resolve business challenges. This is a commercial, supplier-side role for someone who combines strong retailer knowledge with sound judgment, initiative and the ability to move complex projects forward without direct authority over functional teams.

In this role, you will

  • Support the Senior National Account Manager in managing assigned customer priorities, merchant follow-ups and recurring business reviews, with direct customer contact on delegated matters.
  • Coordinate customer programs including product launches, promotional activities, assortment and planogram changes, merchandising initiatives and retail readiness.
  • Lead assigned projects from planning through implementation, tracking deliverables, decisions, risks and follow-up with customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor sales, point-of-sale trends, inventory availability and service performance; identify risks and facilitate timely corrective action with the responsible teams.
  • Partner with the dedicated Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to align customer requirements, promotional plans and business priorities; escalate potential service risks.
  • Coordinate resolution of customer business issues, including item setup, pricing discrepancies, claims, deductions and fulfillment concerns, working through the appropriate functional owners.
  • Prepare business updates, customer meeting materials, performance insights and actionable recommendations to support account reviews and commercial decisions.
  • Work with Sales and Channel Marketing to communicate retail programs, monitor implementation and capture feedback from the field and customer.
  • Support selected initiatives across other national retail accounts when assigned, balancing priorities in alignment with the Senior National Account Manager and Director.

What we're looking for

  • At least five years of relevant experience in national/key account management, customer development, sales or commercial program management, preferably on the manufacturer or supplier side.
  • Experience working with major retail customers; background in consumer packaged goods, paint/coatings, home improvement or building materials is an asset.
  • Understanding of retailer business processes, customer programs, promotional planning, assortment management and the commercial implications of inventory and service levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and drive issues to resolution without direct reporting authority.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with retailer contacts and presenting clear business updates and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills; proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint and ability to interpret sales and performance data.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French is considered an asset but is not required.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Based in Vaughan, Ontario or Boucherville, Quebec; available for periodic customer meetings and store/market visits across Canada. Travel frequency to be confirmed.
