$44/hour + shift premiums

Description

Our client, an established steel manufacturer and recycler, is seeking a licensed Industrial Mechanic / Millwright to maintain production equipment in a heavy industrial environment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will inspect, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, supporting safe operations and minimizing production downtime.

Shift Schedule

12-hour rotating continental shifts: 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.,

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, repair, replace and adjust mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
  • Complete scheduled and emergency maintenance using instructions, drawings and work orders.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and determine repair methods that minimize production interruptions.
  • Identify when equipment must be shut down to prevent damage and communicate recommendations.
  • Assemble and align gears, bearings and shafts, including press, sliding and running fits.
  • Align pumps, motors, turbines and gear reducers.
  • Perform assigned maintenance on large and small production units.
  • Operate powered mobile equipment and perform crane hooking duties.
  • Work collaboratively with other trades and production teams to maintain equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario 433A Industrial Mechanic / Millwright Certificate of Qualification.
  • Heavy manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, hydraulics, variable-frequency drives, PLCs, welding and crane work.
  • Strong communication skills and work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and alongside other trades.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts.
  • Successful completion of required medical and ergonomic assessments, along with background, education and criminal record checks.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada without current or future sponsorship.
