We are currently seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent to join our Construction Team!
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Assistant Site Superintendent will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of assigned projects. This position involves hiring, training, and mentoring Troika Construction field staff, overseeing quality control, maintaining daily field documentation, and assisting with scheduling and overall site operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring site safety, managing trades, organizing materials, maintaining quality and cleanliness, and proactively addressing obstacles to keep projects on schedule.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a strong desire to learn, the ability to perform physical labour, and have a positive, responsible nature. Being based in Vernon is a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Site Superintendent will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, providing support to the Troika Construction staff in multiple capacities. You will be a coordinator, leader, coach, and negotiator.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Direct and manage employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
· Keep an accurate and precise daily log of construction and site activities.
· Follow established company systems and procedures in a professional manner.
· Supervise construction site operations in the absence of the Site Superintendent.
· Order materials as needed and coordinate shipping and receiving.
· Conduct toolbox talks and safety orientations in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
· Provide leadership and mentorship to Troika Construction field staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
· On-site assessment prior to new scopes commencing.
· Supervise and optimize labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors on-site.
· Attend and participate in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
· Participate in site QC of works performed, and project closeout inspection process.
· Adhere to relevant safety regulations.
· Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear and procedures.
· Other duties as required include but are not limited to minor framing, forming, site clean-up.

Qualifications and Requirements:
· Must have a thorough understanding of construction documents and blueprints.
· Be highly familiar with local building codes, construction methods and best practices.
· Proficiency in MS Office, Procore, Bluebeam, and SiteDocs.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent communication and people skills.
· Valid BC Class 5 license, with a clean driving record.
· Current first aid certification is an asset.
· Red Seal Certification is an asset.
· Telehandler ticket is an asset.

Experience Required:
· Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial site supervision.
· Experience with WorkSafe BC safety regulations and standards.
· Experience working on multi-family 5+ storey wood frame construction
