The opportunity

Our ProFound MEP division is hiring a registered 2nd-year Plumbing Apprentice to work alongside our licensed plumbers on residential new builds and renovations. You will take on more responsibility as your skills grow, log real hours toward your Certificate of Qualification, and get the support you need to finish your trade with us.

What you'll do


  • Install, connect and test water supply, drainage, waste and vent (DWV) systems in new homes and renovations

  • Rough-in and finish plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, tubs, showers and laundry

  • Install and service water heaters, sump pumps, backflow devices and water treatment equipment

  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications and the Ontario Building Code (Part 7)

  • Cut, thread, solder and join copper, PEX, ABS, PVC.

  • Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages and fixture problems on service calls

  • Keep the work area clean and safe, and follow DPG's health and safety program and the OHSA

  • Complete daily timesheets and job documentation, and keep your apprenticeship logbook current

  • Work respectfully with homeowners, site supervisors and other trades

What you bring

Required


  • Registered Plumber (306A) apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario, in good standing

  • Roughly 1,800 to 3,600 hours logged toward the 9,000-hour program

  • Level 1 in-school training completed, or scheduled

  • Working knowledge of plumbing tools, materials and safe work practices

  • Valid Ontario G driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites

  • Working at Heights and WHMIS training, or willingness to complete them on hire

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb. and work in crawl spaces, at heights and in all weather

Assets


  • Residential new construction or renovation plumbing experience

  • Gas Technician (G3) certificate or progress toward one

  • First Aid/CPR certification
