Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Execution Project Manager to support the execution, operational readiness, commissioning, and handover of the SX Fire Suppression System Project at a mine site in Northern Saskatchewan, with approximately 60% of the assignment expected to be site-based. The current rotation is 8 hours at the Home office and 11~ hours/day while on site. The current rotation is 2 in and 1 out.
The successful candidate must be comfortable coordinating across multiple suppliers and stakeholders and working effectively between the site and home office located in Saskatoon.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and support execution of the SX Fire Suppression System Project through construction, commissioning, operational readiness, and handover.
- Coordinate execution activities and facilitate effective communication across mine site, home office, engineering, operations, contractors, vendors, and multiple equipment/supply stakeholders.
- Manage project execution priorities, schedules, deliverables, risks, deficiencies, and outstanding actions to maintain project momentum and identify issues early.
- Support field execution and resolution of technical, construction, supplier, and interface issues.
- Coordinate commissioning planning, testing, inspections, system acceptance, and closeout activities.
- Support operational readiness, including procedures, training, documentation, maintenance requirements, spares, and turnover packages.
- Ensure project execution aligns with applicable safety, quality, regulatory, engineering, and site requirements.
- Coordinate final system turnover and handover to Operations.
- Monitor progress against the project schedule and work with the project team to identify constraints, recovery actions, and opportunities to maintain key milestones.
Qualifications + Experience
- Minimum 8 years of related experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
- Experience managing complex projects ranging from $500K to $10M in value.
- Extensive knowledge of the engineering design phase of projects
- Experience with greenfield and brownfield mining and/or heavy industrial projects.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes of practice
Assets but Not Required
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Applied Science Technologist in Canada or eligible to register.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with the Project Management Institute (PMI) is considered a strong asset.
