Operations Coordinator – Manufacturing Location: St. Catharines, Ontario
Compensation: $50,000 – $57,000/year ($25.64 – $29.23/hour)
Schedule: Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week

Our client is a well-established manufacturer with a strong presence in the paper, packaging, and tissue manufacturing industry. They are looking for an Operations Coordinator to join their St. Catharines facility. This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity, giving the successful candidate the chance to demonstrate their skills and transition into a permanent position with the organization. As the Operations Coordinator, you will work closely with Production, Operations, HR, Safety, Maintenance, and Management, playing an important role in keeping the facility organized and running efficiently. What You'll Be Doing You will be an important part of the day-to-day operation, supporting managers and employees across the facility. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Mill and Production Managers.
  • Coordinate employee training, training materials, documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare and distribute weekly crew schedules in coordination with HR and Production Management.
  • Maintain and reconcile the hourly employee time-off tracker before payroll processing.
  • Provide administrative support to Safety, Operations, Maintenance, and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) teams.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure personnel and compliance documentation is kept current.
  • Act as an important communication link between departments, ensuring information is shared accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, schedules, and other operational documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings, lunches, training sessions, and internal activities.
  • Assist management with various operational projects and initiatives.
  • Take ownership of additional responsibilities and projects as the operation evolves.
What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in an operations, manufacturing, production, or administrative role.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with employees, supervisors, managers, and other departments.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • PowerPoint experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Professional, approachable, and solutions-oriented attitude.

The Work Environment This is primarily an office-based position within a busy manufacturing facility. You will have regular interaction with employees and managers and may occasionally enter production, shipping, and warehouse areas. The manufacturing environment may include:
  • Manufacturing equipment
  • Higher noise levels
  • Heat and humidity
  • Industrial production areas
The successful candidate must be comfortable wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safely navigating the facility, including stairs.
