Cascadia Metals is seeking a skilled and reliable Certified Millwright to join our team at the Delta branch. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining site operations, servicing equipment, and ensuring overall facility safety and efficiency.
The ideal candidate thrives in both independent and team-focused manufacturing environments, brings strong technical problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in standard factory conditions (which can be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy). Shift hours are from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Demonstrate technical leadership in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and assist in building and maintaining a comprehensive preventive maintenance system and spare parts inventory.
- Diagnose electro-mechanical issues and implement corrective actions to maximize equipment output and operational efficiency.
- Install, repair, and upgrade electronic controls and plant machinery.
Fabrication & Equipment Support
- Operate machine shop equipment and assist in designing and fabricating custom machine parts and tooling.
- Perform site repairs involving steel fabrication and welding as required.
- Collaborate with and support equipment operators to improve line efficiency and resolve operational bottlenecks.
Safety, Teamwork & General Duties
- Champion a strong safety culture by strictly adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members across departments to support production goals.
- Perform general housekeeping duties and assist plant staff as needed (some heavy lifting may be required).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Certified Journeyman or Red Seal Millwright designation.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Fabrication Skills: Hands-on experience with steel fabrication and welding.
- Schematics & Prints: Ability to read and interpret complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and drawings.
- Control Systems: Fundamental knowledge of PLCs and step ladder logic.
- Mindset & Safety Focus: Strong commitment to workplace safety, self-motivation to work independently, and a collaborative team attitude.
