Dock Worker (Forklift Operator)

Integrated Staffing is currently recruiting for a Forklift Operator for an ongoing opportunity with Day & Ross in Somerville, NB. This opportunity is ideal for reliable, safety-conscious individuals with forklift experience who are comfortable working in a warehouse and dock environment.
This position involves operating a forklift to load and unload trailers, move and organize freight, and assist with general warehouse and dock duties. Candidates should be prepared for early morning shifts, physical activity, and working in varying temperatures.
Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trailers, containers, and delivery trucks.
• Move, stack, and organize pallets and freight within the warehouse and dock areas.
• Inspect freight for damage, proper labeling, and order accuracy.
• Use RF scanners or paperwork to track, verify, and document shipments.
• Secure loads to prevent shifting, damage, or safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean and organized dock and warehouse space.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including picking, packing, and wrapping.
• Communicate effectively with team members, drivers, and supervisors.
• Perform other warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification.
• Previous warehouse, dock, or material-handling experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to safely load and unload trailers, containers, and pallets.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures, including WHMIS and PPE.
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including cold storage and outdoor dock areas.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Working Conditions

• Work will take place at the Day & Ross facility at 11187 Route 130, Somerville, NB.
• Monday to Friday schedule, starting at 5:00 a.m.
• Shifts are typically scheduled from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with hours subject to change based on operational needs.
• 20+ hours per week.
• Early morning work in a warehouse and dock environment.
• Position involves regular standing, walking, lifting, and moving freight.
• Work may involve varying temperatures, including outdoor dock areas and cold storage.
• Ongoing position with an ASAP start date.
