- Lead, coach, train, schedule and supervise a team of 20-30 employees (drivers, helps, gallery equipment team, customer service) in a unionized environment.
- Manage daily operations while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Monitor aircraft loading and off-loading activities to ensure accuracy and on-time performance.
- Ensure airline catering deliveries meet customer requirements and operational deadlines.
- Develop and implement training programs for operational staff.
- Review processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Manage workforce scheduling based on daily flight schedules and operational requirements.
- Adjust staffing levels and assignments throughout the day to support changing flight activity.
- Coordinate aircraft changes, meal increases, delays, and other operational disruptions.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and policies.
- Maintain operational records and reporting documentation.
- Drive productivity while supporting labor cost management initiatives.
- Conduct safety audits, accident investigations, and corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with ramp safety, airport security, and workplace safety standards.
- Coach employees, manage performance issues, and administer progressive discipline when required.
- Foster a positive, customer-focused culture while maintaining high service standards.
- 3-5 years of operations leadership experience in a unionized environment.
- A background in transportation, logistics, distribution, food production, manufacturing, or airline operations would be highly valued.
- Ability to obtain and maintain RAIC & DA security clearances.
- Proven experience supervising and motivating hourly employees.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience managing employee performance, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Lean / Six Sigma experience.
- Airport or airline industry experience.
- Experience managing large transportation or distribution teams.
- Process improvement background.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and compliance programs.
