Metal Polisher

Summary

We are currently looking for experienced Metal Grinders / Polishers to join a sheet metal shop specializing in the fabrication of custom electrical enclosures and cabinets.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with metal grinding, weld cleaning, polishing, and surface finishing. Candidates with stainless steel polishing experience will be given strong consideration and may qualify for a higher starting rate.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal grinding, polishing, and surface finishing.
• Grind and clean welds to achieve a smooth, professional finish.
• Operate hand-held grinders, buffers, polishers, and other finishing tools.
• Smooth welds and remove scratches, burrs, imperfections, and surface defects.
• Prepare metal surfaces for finishing and further production processes.
• Polish and finish stainless steel and other sheet metal components.
• Inspect completed parts for quality, appearance, and consistency.
• Follow drawings, work instructions, and required quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in metal grinding, polishing, weld finishing, or a similar manufacturing role.
• Experience using grinders, buffers, polishers, and hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent finishes.
• Comfortable working with fabricated sheet metal components.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Stainless steel polishing experience is a strong asset.

Compensation

Starting Rate: $20–$24/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill level.

Candidates are also welcome to provide their preferred hourly rate.

Candidates with strong stainless steel grinding and polishing experience may be considered for a higher starting rate.
