Facility and Control Room Operators - Gas ProcessingOverview

S2F Global is seeking experienced 6x Facility and Control Room Operators to join an operations team at a gas processing facility in the Brooks, Alberta area. These contract roles are for facility start-up with potential for long-term for seasoned operators who take pride in safe, reliable plant performance and have worked across a full range of gas processing systems. Operators will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient and environmentally responsible operations, both in the field and from the control room. Ideal candidates will live in the Brooks area or be within a reasonable commute.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights. 7 on / 7 off rotation.

Key Responsibilities

Control Room Operations

  • Monitor and control plant processes through the DCS/control board, maintaining stable and optimized operation.

  • Respond to alarms, process upsets and abnormal conditions quickly and safely.

  • Coordinate with field operators to carry out startups, shutdowns and process adjustments.

  • Maintain accurate shift logs, production records and handover reports.

Field and Facility Operations

  • Operate, monitor and troubleshoot amine sweetening, NGL recovery, compression, cryogenic and mole sieve dehydration units.

  • Conduct routine plant rounds, equipment inspections and process checks.

  • Identify equipment issues early and initiate work orders or maintenance requests.

  • Prepare equipment for maintenance, including isolations, lockout/tagout and safe work permitting.

  • Collect samples and support process testing.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all site safety procedures, permits and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in hazard assessments, safety meetings and incident investigations.

  • Support environmental compliance and reporting.

  • Promote a strong safety culture across the team.

Teamwork and Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate clearly with shift crews, maintenance, engineering and supervision.

  • Contribute to procedure updates, process improvements and operational efficiency.

  • Mentor less experienced operators where appropriate.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of operating experience in gas processing.

  • Power Engineering Certification.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with:

    • Amine sweetening

    • NGL processing

    • Compression (reciprocating and/or centrifugal)

    • Cryogenic processes

    • Mole sieve dehydration

    • Board/control room operations

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and sound judgment during process upsets.

  • Experience operating multiple process units in a large or complex gas plant.

  • Current safety tickets such as H2S Alive and Standard First Aid/CPR.

  • Experience with startups, commissioning or turnarounds, preferred.

  • Valid Drivers Licence.
