• Job Title: Senior Integration Specialist

• Duration: 1+ year (6 months initial contract with an anticipated 6-month extension option)

• Location: Toronto, ON Hybrid

• Pay rate: 100-110/hr incorp

Key Responsibilities

• API and Lifecycle Delivery: Collaborate with inter-divisional business and technical staff to design, build, test, implement, and sustain high-performance API development and enterprise integration solutions.

• Architecture Mapping: Formulate data models, information schemas, database layouts, and network/security interfaces governed by the City's technological guidelines and information policies.

• Policy and Compliance Integration: Recommend corporate procedures that align with municipal legislations, ensuring security, data consistency, privacy, and quality assurance are fully optimized under MFIPPA guidelines.

• Ecosystem Engineering: Connect disparate software systems spanning multiple organizational domains, including CRMs, ERP solutions, asset management tracking tools, and document management platforms.

• Quality Assurance and Support: Author end-to-end testing plans, coordinate test cases, track software execution defects, and directly assure the quality of integrations delivered across the engineering team.

Technical and Experience Requirements

Enterprise Integration Matrix (Must-Have)

• Advanced, deep-domain experience with Apache Camel, MuleSoft runtime, Enterprise Java, RESTful APIs, and cross-platform data transformation protocols (JSON and XML).

• Specialized expertise designing, programming, and supporting reusable MuleSoft integration flows, proxy layers, and API-led connectivity frameworks.

Cloud, Containers, and DevOps (Must-Have)

• High proficiency and proven expertise running containerized deployments inside OpenShift or Kubernetes orchestrations.

• Strong background setting up secure CI/CD build automation pipelines, source code branching, automated unit testing frameworks, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) paradigms.

• Hands-on experience with core AWS public cloud services (Lambda microservices, SQS queues, S3 storage) is a highly valued asset.

Data Reliability and Fault Tolerance

• Expert SQL scripting capabilities alongside knowledge of building resilient integration strategies including automated retries, error monitoring, data consistency routines, and Dead-Letter Queues (DLQ).

Leadership and Communication

• Strong business translation skills to map corporate requirements directly into granular technical engineering diagrams.

• Proven leadership capacity to resolve data ownership disputes, coordinate cross-team governance models, and produce technical manuals, system designs, and user guides.

• Prior experience delivering large-scale enterprise IT solutions within the Public Sector is strongly preferred.
