Concrete Pump Operator

Western Concrete Pumping Ltd is seeking a full time Pump Operator

A concrete pump operator drives, sets up, and operates specialized heavy trucks equipped with hydraulic pumps and booms to place liquid concrete precisely on construction sites.

Core Responsibilities

• Transport and Inspection: Drive the heavy pump truck to job sites safely, completing required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.
• Site Setup: Park on stable ground, deploy outrigger stabilizing legs, unfold the hydraulic boom, and prime the system with a water-cement slurry to prevent blockages.
• Pumping Operations: Control the flow, pressure, and delivery speed of the concrete via remote control or truck levers based on crew directions.
• Cleanup and Maintenance: Wash out the hopper, pump cylinders, and boom lines using water and a sponge cleaning ball after the pour finishes.

Requirements and Training

• Driver's License: Typically requires a valid Class 1 or Class 3 commercial driver's license with an air brake endorsement.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to handle heavy hoses, outrigger pads, and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
