Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse

Hearthstone by the Bay is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) / Registered Nurse / Charge Nurse to join our Wellness team. This role provides emergency response to residents throughout the community and direct nursing care to contracted residents of the Wellness Centre.

The RPN/Charge Nurse plays an important leadership role, providing guidance to Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and supporting the Director of Wellness in maintaining a safe, caring and high-quality environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, treatments and first aid.
• Respond promptly and safely to emergencies and emergency monitoring unit (EMU) calls.
• Monitor residents' health and identify and communicate changes in condition to families, physicians and the Director of Wellness.
• Develop, review and maintain resident care plans and accurate clinical documentation.
• Provide health education and support to residents and families regarding medications, treatments and care.
• Provide direction, support and supervision to PSWs and assist with personal care as required.
• Follow all infection prevention and control, health and safety, WHMIS and emergency procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Wellness on resident care, wellness projects, supplies, billing and records.
• Promote a positive resident experience focused on dignity, safety, wellness and exceptional service.
