The Opportunity

Our client, an established Ontario construction firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing team following the award of several new projects.

This is an opportunity for a senior construction professional to take ownership of multiple significant ICI projects delivered through CCDC 14 Design-Build and CCDC 5B Construction Management contract structures.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing projects from the early planning and preconstruction stages through procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout. The company offers flexibility in working arrangements and, for the right individual, there is potential for continued advancement into a Director-level position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of multiple ICI construction projects from preconstruction through completion

• Manage projects delivered under CCDC 14 Design-Build and CCDC 5B Construction Management contracts

• Coordinate closely with owners, consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal construction teams

• Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, schedules and overall financial performance

• Oversee tendering, procurement, subcontractor selection and contract administration

• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, progress draws and project documentation

• Lead design coordination and identify constructability, scheduling and cost issues early in the project lifecycle

• Monitor project progress against schedule and budget and implement corrective measures where required

• Chair and participate in project meetings with clients, consultants and trade partners

• Support site teams in resolving technical, contractual and construction-related issues

• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle

• Manage project turnover, commissioning, deficiency resolution and closeout

• Mentor junior project management staff and contribute to the continued development of the project management team

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing ICI construction projects in Ontario

• Strong background in Design-Build and/or Construction Management

• Experience working with CCDC contracts, particularly CCDC 14 and/or CCDC 5B, is highly desirable

• Proven ability to manage projects through the full construction lifecycle

• Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost control, scheduling, procurement and contract administration

• Experience coordinating consultants, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams

• Strong leadership, communication and client-management skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively

• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline is an asset

• PMP, Gold Seal or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset

Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 + bonus + benefits
