The Opportunity

Elskamp Farms is seeking experienced Equipment Operators to join the team near Woodlands, Manitoba, with flexible employment options available to suit a range of situations: seasonal, full-time, and permanent positions are all on the table depending on the candidate and the fit. This is an opportunity to work on a respected, modern family farm with well-maintained equipment, clear seasonal structure, and a crew that takes genuine pride in how they operate.

The Equipment Operator will work across the full range of field operations throughout the crop season, operating GPS-guided machinery with precision and care, supporting routine maintenance, and contributing to the overall productivity and professionalism of the operation. Candidates with field leadership experience are encouraged to apply, as there is opportunity to take on a more senior role for the right person. Housing is available on or near the farm for candidates who require it.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate modern GPS-guided agricultural equipment safely and efficiently across a full range of field operations.
• Perform routine pre-operation inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor mechanical repairs on farm equipment, ensuring machinery remains in reliable working condition and unplanned downtime is minimized across the operation.
• Monitor equipment performance in the field, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and communicate relevant information to farm management in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support all phases of the crop production cycle with flexibility and a strong work ethic, including assisting with general farm duties and other seasonal activities as operational needs require.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in and around equipment, shop areas, and farm facilities, adhering to all applicable safety practices and standards.
• Provide field leadership and practical guidance to other team members where applicable, contributing to a positive, professional, and productive farm culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating agricultural equipment in a production farming environment, including tractors, combines, sprayers, or similar machinery; a demonstrated history of responsible, high-quality operation is essential.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, carry out basic maintenance and repairs independently, and recognize when professional service is required.
• Experience with GPS-guided agricultural technology or precision farming systems is considered a meaningful asset.
• A hands-on, self-directed approach to farm work, with the physical stamina and outdoor resilience to perform effectively and safely across long days during peak seasonal periods.
• Supervisory, lead-hand, or mentoring experience in an agricultural setting is considered a strong asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence is required;
