Key Responsibilities

The Technician Apprentice works an 8-hour day shift between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with some overtime as required. This position is not confined to shop activities as the Apprentice may be required to perform field work on down buses in city limits and some rural areas.

• Assist Journeyperson Technicians with inspections, maintenance, and repairs on school buses and support vehicles
• Perform preventative maintenance, tire services, brake inspections, fluid changes, and basic repairs
• Respond to breakdowns
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
• Follow all safety procedures and industry regulations
• Help ensure our buses are safe and road-ready for the students and communities we serve

Requirements

• Registered as a 1st or 2nd Year Automotive Apprentice in Alberta
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Clear criminal record
• Own hand tools
