We're looking for an HVAC Commercial Estimation Manager based in Edmonton to lead our commercial estimating teams across Western Canada. Duties/Responsibilities

Management

  • Lead, coach, and support Commercial Team members across Western Canada, helping them prioritize bids and develop their estimating skills.
  • Set clear expectations for the Commercial Team and provide feedback on performance, customer service, and sales goals.
  • Guide the team in applying pricing procedures and controls to commercial quotations and bids.

Strategy

  • Review upcoming bids and the sales pipeline to set priorities, plan team capacity, and flag resource needs to the Regional Managers.
  • Partner with Regional Managers to develop a clear plan for the Commercial Team, including short and long-term sales and margin goals.
  • Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the Commercial Team's performance against sales and margin goals.

Sales and Estimating

  • Prepare customer quotations and bids, and follow up on open opportunities.
  • Review large projects for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Build relationships with customers and vendors and identify opportunities for growth in the commercial market.
  • Research products, recommend solutions from Sinclair's product assortment, and identify opportunities to promote Sinclair brands.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to prepare equipment selections, proposals, and submittals.

Customer Service

  • Coordinate with branches, vendors, and customers to support projects from initial quotation through order fulfillment and follow-up.
  • Set service expectations for the Commercial Team and ensure customers receive timely, professional support throughout their projects.
  • Respond promptly to customer concerns and help resolve disputes.
  • Process customer returns in accordance with Sinclair's return procedures and terms of sale.

Reporting

  • Prepare monthly commercial sales forecasts and pipeline updates for Regional Managers.
  • Provide regular updates on major bids and projects, including progress, outcomes, and any issues requiring attention.
  • Summarize sales and margin performance, customer activity, and emerging trends to inform planning decisions.

Qualification/Experience

  • Post-secondary education in HVAC, mechanical systems, or a related field, or an HVAC technical designation is required.
  • 5+ years of HVAC industry experience, with knowledge of air movement, mechanical systems, and equipment, is required.
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings and preparing equipment selections, quotations, and submittals is required.
  • 3+ years of management experience is required.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with contractors, customers, suppliers, and internal teams are required.

Additional Requirements:

  • This is an in-person position, Monday to Friday, based at our Edmonton North location.
