Compensation: Commission-based with attractive, uncapped earning potential

Are you a strategic thinker with strong connections to local business leaders? Harrowsmith Local is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Marketing and Media Accounts Specialist to help local retailers, brands, associations, and organizations turn their stories into business.

This is more than a traditional ad sales role. You will consult directly with business owners and decision-makers, asking smart questions to convert their commercial challenges into strategic media, sponsorship, and content opportunities backed by Harrowsmith Local and Moongate Publishing.

Key Responsibilities

• Relationship Building: Open doors and establish strong long-term relationships with business owners, marketing leaders, executive directors, and community decision-makers across the King-to-Orillia corridor.
• Consultative Strategy: Conduct client discovery meetings to understand goals, identify target audiences, and uncover strategic storytelling opportunities.
• Solution Design: Match client needs with custom mixes of media capabilities, including print advertising, sponsorships, content creation, video, podcasts, and digital storytelling.
• End-to-End Account Management: Manage prospects through the full sales cycle—from initial outreach and proposal development to negotiation, closing, and ongoing account development.
• Sales Presentations: Pitch advertising, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities with energy, confidence, and commercial clarity.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Location: Must live in or near the King Township to Orillia corridor.
• Experience: Proven track record in media sales, advertising, marketing, retail partnerships, or business development.
• Local Network: Existing involvement with local Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement Areas (BIAs), or local business networks is strongly preferred.
• Media Acumen: Deep understanding of how print, digital content, video, social media, and podcasts work together in integrated campaigns.
• Creative Mindset: Ability to think beyond standard rate cards to design comprehensive marketing solutions.
