Talencor Staffing is hiring a Front of the house and a kitchen helper for a client in the food service and specialty retail industry in Mississauga. This is a versatile role involving kitchen support, grocery store operations, customer service, cashier duties, and front-of-house responsibilities. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

FRONT OF HOUSE DUTIES: Shift Days & Timings: 6:00 AM TO 7:00 PM:

• Cashier Job duties.
• Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
• Scanning groceries and entering prices accurately.
• Processing cash, credit/debit card, mobile, and other payment methods.
• Issuing receipts, refunds, exchanges, (to be done by manager) according to store policies.
• Verifying customer age when selling age-restricted items.
• Bagging groceries carefully and assisting customers with their purchases.
• Maintaining an accurate cash drawer and balancing the register at the end of each shift.
• Answering customer questions about products, prices, and store promotions. Inform customers about our daily features and flyers.
• Cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
• Keeping the checkout area clean, and sanitized, organized, and well-stocked with bags and supplies.
• Reporting pricing discrepancies, damaged merchandise, or equipment issues to managers
• Assisting with stocking shelves, organizing displays, or other store tasks during slow periods.
• Following company policies and safety procedures.
• Procedures to ensure a secure shopping environment.
• attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Cleaning: sweeping/vacuuming, garbage, shopping carts etc.
  

KITCHEN DUTIES: 6:00 AM TO 4:00 PM

Breakfast

• Make sandwiches
• Stock breakfast cart

Pizza

• Sicilian veg - 2 times per week
• Pizza sauce - 3 times per week
• Focaccia dough - make daily
• Prep pizza toppings - portion daily
• Pizza dough - 2 times per week
• Focaccia sandwiches - daily

Line

• Make soup - daily
• Make pesto - daily
• Stock line
• Chef features & chef table - daily
• Daily meats - store/catering
• Hot table
• Fryer cleaned - 2 times per week

Prep

• Sandwiches
• Store salads
• Store sandwiches
• Mac & cheese and fettuccine - daily
• Chicken Sorrentino - 1 time per week
• Chicken/veal parm - daily
• Hot & Tasty
• Stew portion - 1 time per week
• Focaccia topping & baking - daily

Animation

• Cut lasagna - daily
• Sauces
• Veal & chicken trays & cannelloni - daily
• Stock fridges
• Garlic bread - daily
• Monthly specials
• Weekly specials
  

Qualifications:
1) Valid Smart Serve Certification (Mandatory).
2) Atleast 2 yrs experience in food service, retail, grocery, or customer service is an asset. Preference to people with similar experience like in Longos & Fortinos.
3) Strong English communication and customer service skills.
4) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5) Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs.
6) Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
7) Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
