Heavy Duty Equipment Technician – Field Service

Greater Vancouver, BC | $50–$55/hr | Full-Time | Monday–Friday

If you're a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician who can diagnose a machine, find the problem and fix it without throwing parts at it, take a look.

We're looking for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to work on a fleet of earthmoving equipment throughout the Lower Mainland. This is a field-heavy role working on excavators, wheel loaders, dozers and other heavy iron.

You'll be out in a Ram 5500 service truck equipped with a crane and welder, handling breakdowns, repairs and preventative maintenance in the field. You'll start your day at the shop, then head out as the work dictates. Most calls are local, so you're home every night.

What You'll Be Working On

• Excavators, wheel loaders, dozers and other earthmoving equipment
• Primarily CAT, with some Hitachi and other makes
• Diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and controls
• Hydraulic repairs and troubleshooting
• Electrical and mechanical diagnostics
• Preventative maintenance and inspections
• Field breakdowns and equipment repairs
• Welding, fabrication and hydraulic modifications when needed

This isn't a parts-changing job. We need someone who can trace a hydraulic issue, chase down an electrical fault, diagnose a diesel problem and get the machine back working.

What We're Looking For

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
• Heavy equipment experience — construction, dealer, rental, fleet or similar
• Strong hydraulic, electrical, diesel and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable working on your own in the field
• Valid driver's licence
• Diagnostic software experience is an asset
• Welding/fabrication experience is an asset

What You Get

• $50–$55/hr, with flexibility depending on experience
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
• 40 hours/week with OT as needed
