Industrial Painter-Afternoon shift

Pay: CA$25.00 per hour

Job description:

Key Responsibilities

• Paint parts in accordance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Apply powder coating to the recommended mill thickness, following instructions displayed on the paint line monitor or quality sign-off sheet.
• Inspect product surfaces prior to painting and ensure all areas are properly and completely coated.
• Maintain accurate daily records of paint and other consumables used.
• Troubleshoot and resolve paint-related issues as required.
• Follow production schedules and deadlines to help achieve daily production targets.
• Maintain painting equipment in good working condition and ensure it is clean and properly maintained at all times.
• Clean paint booths, spray guns, and related equipment in accordance with 6S housekeeping standards.
• Keep the surrounding work area clean, organized, and free of excess powder.
• Assist employees in other departments when there are no parts available for painting or when the production line is stopped.
• Complete all required production and quality documentation as directed by management.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of powder coating paints and processes.
• Ability to safely and effectively use appropriate painting tools and equipment, including paint and blow guns.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to occasionally sit, kneel, and perform other physical tasks as required.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), applicable regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Properly use and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Immediately report any violations of OHSA, regulations, or company health and safety policies to the Supervisor.
• Report all observed workplace hazards to the Supervisor.
• Immediately report any actual or potential risks of workplace violence or harassment to the Supervisor.
• Never remove, bypass, or disable a protective device unless an adequate temporary safeguard is provided. Replace the original protective device immediately once the work is completed.
• Operate equipment, machinery, tools, and other devices safely and in a manner that does not endanger yourself or others.
• Understand and follow all established safe work practices and procedures.
• Attend all required Health and Safety training programs, including WHMIS and company orientation, and apply the knowledge gained to daily work activities.

Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• 6 months to 3 years of related painting, powder coating, or manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Education

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.

3:00 pm to 12:30 am
