HEAVY EQUIPMENT REPAIR TECHNICIAN

WE'RE HIRING – HEAVY EQUIPMENT REPAIR TECHNICIAN
$32–$40/hr | Ottawa, ON | Full-time, permanent | Immediate start

A Canadian-owned equipment rental company with over 70 years in business and branches across the country. Their fleet includes aerial reach equipment, skid steers, mini excavators and towable units — and they need an experienced repair technician to keep it strong, safe and rental-ready.

What you'll be doing:

• Diagnosing and repairing diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems on construction and aerial equipment: skid steers, mini excavators, boom lifts, scissor lifts, towable equipment
• Inspecting and testing every unit so it meets quality and safety standards before it goes out the door
• Operating and testing equipment under real operating conditions
• Working from checklists, owner's manuals and schematics
• Providing guidance to junior service technicians on repairs and priorities
• Helping decide when a piece of equipment should be retired from the fleet
• Keeping service records and inventory documentation accurate in the rental management system

What you need:

• 3+ years of hands-on heavy equipment repair experience (diesel, hydraulic and electrical)
• Valid G Class driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
• Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Strong mechanical aptitude, comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Heavy equipment trade certification is an asset, not a requirement
• Rental industry or aerial equipment background is a strong plus
