HOURS: Day: 8am – 4pm Afternoon: 4pm – 12am Night: 12am – 8am

(Flexibility to work as required)

FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Lead will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily warehouse activities
accurately, efficiently and safely. He/She will implement production, productivity, quality, safety and customer services standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and participate in daily hands-on warehouse operations within a high-volume cross-dock and parcel processing environment.
• Coordinate and oversee parcel processing lines to ensure shipments are received, sorted, scanned, staged, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.
• Act as a working lead by actively performing warehouse duties alongside the team while providing direction, support, and guidance to associates.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, stage, load, and unload freight safely and efficiently. Forklift certification/experience preferred.
• Coordinate dock activities, including trailer loading/unloading, freight movement, staging, and cross-dock transfers.
• Monitor workflow and staffing throughout the shift and reallocate resources as required to maintain operational targets and service levels.
• Ensure parcels and freight are processed accurately and within established productivity and service standards.
• Support the implementation and adherence to standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify operational bottlenecks, delays, damages, or processing issues and take immediate corrective action.
• Perform regular floor checks to ensure proper parcel flow, line utilization, housekeeping, and safe working conditions.
• Assist with training, onboarding, and coaching of new and existing warehouse associates.
• Provide real-time direction and feedback to associates to maintain productivity, accuracy, and safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation, operational records, and shift handover information.
• Communicate operational issues, staffing requirements, equipment concerns, and performance updates to management.
• Work closely with transportation, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth movement of freight through the facility.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure all team members follow safe material-handling and warehouse practices.
• Perform other hands-on warehouse and operational duties as required to support business needs.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and provide coverage for other shifts as required based on operational needs.
• Flexibility to adjust working hours and support different shifts when required to maintain operational coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, cross-dock, courier, parcel, or logistics environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a lead-hand or working-lead capacity.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially work and excel
• Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
• Experience working with high-volume parcel processing or conveyor/sortation operations is an asset.
• Experience in use of scanners, barcode readers, warehouse management software, other digital equipment and systems will be an asset
• Strong understanding of warehouse flow, dock operations, freight staging, and material handling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and remain effective under time-sensitive conditions.
• Experience of fulfillment processes and practices will be an asset
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-coordination skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle parcels and freight throughout the shift.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Warehouse floor environment with exposure to noise and dust.
• Lifting of boxes that can result in injury to back, feet or hands.
• May require working on weekends or extended hours during peak times.

TYPE OF SUPERVISION AND ASSISTANCE GIVEN:

• Direct supervision and guidance from Warehouse Supervisor.

• May be required to supervise, train and review work of team members and new hires.
