Description

The Digital Information and Repository (DIR) is a first of its kind in Canada solution that enables Criminal Informations received through the intake application to be used as digital documents that can be updated, endorsed, retrieved, and shared electronically.

Documents and data within DIR are stored in the cloud, allowing court users to search for and access them quickly.

The solution also enables court services staff to scan and upload other case-related documents and associate them to the Criminal Information, essentially creating digital case files, for the Ontario Court of Justice.

The DIR was successfully implemented in the Toronto and North regions. Full Provincial Rollout of the solution begins October 5th, 2026.

The DIR is seen as a critical enabler for MAG's Courts Digital Transformation (CDT) Initiative.

Scope

The Justice Technology Services - Digital Design Branch requires two (2) senior Software Developers with 8+ years of experience for building a modern digital information system and its integration with other internal and external applications.

Assignment Deliverables

The Justice Technology Services - Digital Design Branch requires two (2) senior Software Developers with 8+ years of experience for building a modern cloud-based system and it's integration with other internal and external applications

Provide application support

Support the testing team during system and UAT testing

Prepare deployment packages of code and instructions for builds in Development, UAT, and Production environments

Participate in Knowledge transfer

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

Over 8+ years of overall experience in entire Software Development Life Cycle as well as Microsoft .Net Framework Technologies

Sound knowledge of developing web based B2B B2C applications in the client/server environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Extensive implementation experience in installation, configuration, customization and extension of Microsoft Azure as well as doing the deployment, trouble shooting and production support for the applications developed.
• Experience in developing web-based solutions including sitemap writing client side JavaScript.
• Hands-on experiences in developing Web/Windows applications using C#, .net Core, ADO.net, SQL Server 2005/2008R2, and .Net Framework 4.0/5.0 with strong knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts.
• Expertise in Database Systems, SQL, and Stored Procedure.
• Good knowledge of Web Development skills like HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, and Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010.
• Worked on setting up relationships between System and Custom entities
• Worked on Form customization using JavaScript
• Experience in converting client requirements and functional specifications to technical design with effort estimation.
• Expertise in generating Entity relationship diagrams to describe the relation between different entities.
