Maintenance / Groundskeeper
Compensation: $22 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
The Sportmens Club is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Outside Worker / Maintenance person to support day-to-day club operations, assist members and guests, and help manage our Clay Target shooting range. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outside, with people or working alone, communicates clearly, and has some basic Mechanical, Electrical and wood working skills
Work Location and Schedule
- Must be able to work at the Club, which is located on Gore Rd, Puslinch.
- Required on-site hours: Wednesdays 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rain or Shine.
- The balance of weekly hours may be at the employee discretion.
- Total work week is expected to be 30 to 40 hours, to be negotiated.
- Must have reliable transportation, there is limited transit to the Sportsman Club.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional service to approximately 1,600 club members and guests.
- Clearly communicate with members, guests, managers, and other staff members.
- Act as a “Range Officer” and be vigilant of firearms safety or other infractions of club rules (training will be provided).
- Keep all (150) clay target throwing machines filled with targets.
- Some lifting required. Boxes of targets, emptying trash containers, replacing batteries, shovel snow, etc.
- Repair/maintain Promatic clay target throwing machines (training will be provided).
- Operate Tractor/SkidSteer/ToolCat (some training may be provided).
- Build/maintain wooden fences and basic wooden structures.
- Use a cell phone and/or walkie-talkie to communicate with staff during operations.
- Potentially manage / train new junior or seasonal employees.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by Club Managers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Positive attitude, reliable attendance, and self motivation.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a professional manner.
- Must be proactive and be able to work independently. Hard worker.
- Ability to stay organized while managing multiple tasks.
